KICK’N IT WITH JESUS: Getting back to the REAlITY that statement “JESUS IS MY HOMEBOY” doesn’t fit with how the homeboy’s HOLY

To anyone interested,

Now, many of you watching may be surprised at seeing this……but there’s actually a toy line out where these things are being made (courtesy of “A LITTLE LEAVEN”, http://www.alittleleaven.com/jesus_junk/index.html)

 Here’s the main site to find them all:

Now, to be honest, I CHUCKLED when I saw this…..not becuase of how I think it’s cute, but due to the fact of how amazed I am more and more at how far we’ve come from recognizing who the Lord truly is

Question: How would you feel if someone took a picture of you, framed it, stared at it alot, showed it to others, but COMPLETELY ignored who the REAL YOU WAS?? You’d probably not appreaciate it…..and yet God does not wish to feel this way either. And yet, when I see things such as the above picture, I wonder how often have we done the same…….making God into our own image and trying to make Him suitable to how we’d like Him to be.

 Even more interesting about the above image is how the Lord is made into something akin to an action figure…..small enough that we can control, manipulate, or play with…..and yet when you imagine the Lord as He is in Scripture…the LORD OF HOSTS, with FIRE IN HIS EYES, that’s not something to PLAY WITH….

Will share more later…………

As I said in a previous post, Have you ever wondered why many of the pictures depicting the death of Christ seem to show Him as only having a couple droplets of blood trickling down His Face>? Or why even in the scenes where He was beaten, he still seems recognizable and somewhat alright? Honestly, I don’t think many people truly comprehend the true HORROR of what the Lord went through on the Cross…..and moreover, ALL OF THE HELL THAT OCCURED BEFORE THAT.

Isaiah 53

1 Who has believed our message
and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?

2 He grew up before him like a tender shoot,
and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.

3 He was despised and rejected by men,
a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering.
Like one from whom men hide their faces
he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

4 Surely he took up our infirmities
and carried our sorrows,
yet we considered him stricken by God,
smitten by him, and afflicted.

5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
and by his wounds we are healed.

6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to his own way;
and the LORD has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.

7 He was oppressed and afflicted,
yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
and as a sheep before her shearers is silent,
so he did not open his mouth.

8 By oppression [a] and judgment he was taken away.
And who can speak of his descendants?
For he was cut off from the land of the living;
for the transgression of my people he was stricken. [b]

9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked,
and with the rich in his death,
though he had done no violence,
nor was any deceit in his mouth.

10 Yet it was the LORD’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer,
and though the LORD makes [c] his life a guilt offering,
he will see his offspring and prolong his days,
and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand.

11 After the suffering of his soul,
he will see the light of life [d] and be satisfied [e] ;
by his knowledge [f] my righteous servant will justify many,
and he will bear their iniquities.

12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, [g]
and he will divide the spoils with the strong, [h]
because he poured out his life unto death,
and was numbered with the transgressors.
For he bore the sin of many,
and made intercession for the transgressors.

1 Peter 2

19For it is commendable if a man bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because he is conscious of God. 20But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God. 21To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.
22“He committed no sin,
and no deceit was found in his mouth.”[e] 23When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. 24He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. 25For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

Therefore, I have taken the liberty of posting some of the series that my church did on the subject. I remember hearing of the information when I was only 12, and I kid you not, IT TRULY SHOOK ME UP…….and helped me to realize the COST OF MY SIN that MY SAVIOR TOOK UP. It’s entitled “The STORY: The last 24 hours of Jesus’s life before the Cross”.

I have also taken the liberty of posting this because this is the LAST TIME I PLAN ON WRITING ON THIS BLOG for AWHILE (AT LEAST TILL NEXT YEAR).There are some things that I realize I need to be seeking the Lord in currently and I need to therefore take a break from some things. So I WANTED TO LEAVE OFF ON A GOOD NOTE…..and with some powerful things for everyone to consider
