Feminism destroying society…

Posted by Gabriel (G²) on October 19, 2007

Here’s an excerpt of a conversation I recently had with someone on the issue of FEMINISM & IT’S CONSEQUENCES FOR OUR SOCIETY.

In the original question, the author asked “How does feminism fit in to Christianity? I’m all for the equal treatment of women, but it is very clear in the Bible that the man is to be the head of the woman. The woman has a very important role in the family as the head of the children, and the keeper of the household. With radical feminism today, many feminists are telling women that they don’t need men to be fathers to their children, and that they should find jobs outside of the house and leave the care of children to others. I, personally, have encountered criticism for being a housewife, like that is a shameful thing. I work hard as a housewife, and I’m going to college at the same time. I’m far from stupid, but some women seem to think that submitting to men is foolish.”

With so many women believing that they should live their own lives without putting their families first, is it contributing to the degredation of our society? Who will be role models for children if the parents are at work all the time? Where will husbands turn if their wives are always out following their own desires? How can we honor the Bible if we have our own agendas?

Proverbs 31 is a good example of all women can do, and it certainly isn’t limiting”

To start, my first question would be: “Who began the Fall? The Man, His lADY, THE SERPENT or something else entirely?

I think that Feminism was a result of the Fall, but the basic components of it were PRESENT IN EVE’S ACTIONS…..& I also believe, as Jimmy said, that ADAM’S LACK OF MANHOOD WAS JUST AS CONNECTED TO FEMINISM AS IT IS FOR THE MAJORITY OF MEN TODAY.

Moreover, when you think of it, the same things you see between men & women in feminism/machoism debates seemed to take place at the fall!!

For example:

Genesis 3:11-20

11 And he said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”

12 The man said, “The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.”

13 Then the LORD God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?”
The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”

14 So the LORD God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this,
“Cursed are you above all the livestock
and all the wild animals!
You will crawl on your belly
and you will eat dust
all the days of your life.

15 And I will put enmity
between you and the woman,
and between your offspring [a] and hers;
he will crush [b] your head,
and you will strike his heel.”

16 To the woman he said,
“I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing;
with pain you will give birth to children.
Your desire will be for your husband,
and he will rule over you.”

17 To Adam he said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat of it,’

“Cursed is the ground because of you;
through painful toil you will eat of it
all the days of your life.

18 It will produce thorns and thistles for you,
and you will eat the plants of the field.

19 By the sweat of your brow
you will eat your food
until you return to the ground,
since from it you were taken;
for dust you are
and to dust you will return.”

20 Adam [c] named his wife Eve, [d] because she would become the mother of all the living.

Take note on some things, folks, for when God inquired Adam about HIS PERSONAL SIN IN THE FALL, what did Adam do? He BLAMED EVE—WOMAN—for the problem. And Eve, when facing the music, BLAMED SOMEONE ELSE…..but neither of them TOOK RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR ACTIONS IN REALIZING THAT THEY WERE BOTH FLAWED IN HOW THEY WENT ABOUT DOING THINGS.

Feminism, or at least adressing it, involves the SAME THINGS, were people on both sides of the issue seem to be excusing their sins by blaming the other gender/someone else or circumstances…..& the reality is that by people simply not taking responsibility for their actions & admiting the truth before God we’ve increased the isssues plaguing US.

Moreover, regarding the issue of who was more responsible, consider this:

1 Timothy 2:12-14

12I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent.13For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.

This is a passage giving an illustration of ADAM & EVE as reference to what was happening in the church at the time Paul spoke it.

Some have taken the passage to mean that women should never teach in an assembled church, but commentators point out that Paul did not forbid women from ever teaching. Paul’s commended coworker, Priscillia, taught Apollos, the GREAT TEACHER (Acts 18:24-26), & Paul frrequently mentioned other women who held positions of responsibility in the church (Romans 16:1, Romans 16:6, Romans 16:12) (Philippians 4:2).

The passage was dealing with Paul not wanting the Ephesisan wpomen to teach because they DIDN’T YET HAVE ENOUGH KNOWLEDGE OR EXPERIENCE. Evidently, them women were susceptible to the false teachings (II Timothy 3:1-9) because they did not yet have enough BIBLICAL KNOWLEDGE to discern the truth….

Just as Eve had been decieved in the Garden BY THE SERPENT, so the women in the church were being decieved by FALSE TEACHERS….& just as Adam was the FIRST HUMAN MADE BY GOD, so the men in the church in Ephesus were to be THE FIRST TO SPEAK AND TEACH, because they had more TRAINING.

Paul was not excusing Adam for his part in the Fall (Genesis 3:6-7, Genesis 3:17-19)….FOR IT FACT PAUL PLACES PRIMARY BLAME FOR HUMANITY’S SINFULNNESS ON ADAM!!!! (Roman

Romans 5:12-21

12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned— 13 (For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.

15 But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. 16 And the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned. For the judgment which cameoffense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which cameresulted in justification. from one from many offenses 1

7 For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)

18 Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. 19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.

20 Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, 21 so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

but moreso illustrating how things get out of order, as it was in cHURCH HE WAS ADRESSING, when men/women fail to maintain order in the way God made things to be, for these roles maintain harmony in both the family & the church.

That said, it’s my belief that FEMINISM is nothing more than a result of both parties not fufilling their roles as a couple, but it seems also that FEMINSISM is the MORESO THE RESULT OF MEN SIMPLY NOT STEPPING UP.

For those blaming Eve for the fall & all women who are feminist for the woes of man, I find it ironic that the woman seemed to be more focused on fufilling man’s role in the garden than ADAM, for what did God call man to do?:

Genesis 1:28-30

28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

29 And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. 30 Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so.

“DOMINION” is not a PASSIVE WORD, for it implies agressiveness/willingness to face challenges, just as it was for the Lord who went into CHAOS/CONFUSION and brought ORDER OUT OF IT.

Adam & Eve, being made in God’s image, were designed to do the same…..and yet when the chaos/confusion that the serpent represented came about, At least it seems that the women was willing to even dominate/engage it, even though it was a role that she was never meant to FUFILL ALONE or FIRST (which seems to go along with the definition of feminism, which is “making male and female the same, so that females can operate in any roles, regardless if God designed it specifically for man only”)

Though God called both of them to have DOMINION/SUBDUE, she SHOULD’VE GONE TO HER HUSBAND FIRST, INQUIRED OF HIM, & BOTH OF THEM SHOULD’VE GONE TO GOD together WITH HIM LEADING THE CHARGE……. yet where was ADAM the entire ordeal?

From the text, he was “right there with her” (Genesis 3:6-7), & yet He KNOWING FIRSTHAND WHAT GOD HAD CALLED THEM TO DO, didn’t say a WORD…………SILENT. He was completely content letting her do battle &, IMO, simply along for the Ride/SUPERVISING.

Even though Eve was out of line, her very words show that ADAM hadn’t properly done his part yet of LEADING HER. Check out her very words, for she addded on to what God said: “And we shall not touch it, or we will surely die.”

God NEVER SAID THAT (Genesis 2:15-17)…..& moreover, EVE WASN’T AROUND WHEN GOD SAID IT. He said the ORIGINAL INSTRUCTIONS to ADAM, before she was created. Therefore, it seems reasonable to say that Adam influenced Eve in the temptation process from the get go because of his lack of INFORMING HER WHAT GOD SAID/INTERVENING.

When Eve presented the fruit to Adam, due to all the benefits it seemed to possess like nourishment/pleasing to the eye, Adam did not remind her of how God had ALREADY GIVEN THEM TREES WITH FRUIT that had ALL OF THOSE THINGS

Genesis 2:8-9

8 The LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. 9 And out of the ground the LORD God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

This same situation seems to happen for most men today, as well as in the Bible…..& with the same disatrous results. Check out Abraham, for example, who REMAINED SILENT during the Hagar/Ishmael issue.

God had showed up in Abrahams’s life & did MIGHTY WORKS on His behalf (Genesis 12:10-20, Genesis 14 )…..& God TOLD HIM WHAT TO EXPECT OF A PROMISED CHILD FOR HIM & Sarah (Genesis 15)….& yet when Sarah wasn’t seeing results & fell into the wrong belief of God keeping her barren PERMANANTLY, she told Abraham TO DO THINGS the wrong way (Genesis 16) There was no argument…..& no bringing up of God’s Words in the issue.

JuST SILENCE …..& now, as seem in Genesis 21:8-21, we have the MIDDLE EAST CRISIS AS A RESULT

Adam & Eve should’ve be working together—-as ONE—-but because they were not, things are as they are today……& even in light of that, Man is STILL MORE RESPONSIBLE!!!!

As long as we’re not taking initiative, leading with purpose, or CONTENT with allowing women to handle issues while we sit back for the ride, FEMINISM IS ON US. Again, their speaking out is a result of our SILENCE……& ALL OF THE PROBLEMS AFTER ARE ON US!!!!1
